Building Control Visit 08.07.13

 -    Mid level glazing to window at escape ramp exit point must be fire rated glass. Mid level windows to ramp landing and exit point must be locked shut.

 

 

-          Handrails to external escape ramp should be continuous

 

Mid level glazing to windows adjacent to building entry path must have opening restriction of 100mm

 

 

-          Cill to door ED.05 should be painted in a contrasting colour to the adjacent floor surfaces

 

 -          Fire break glass unit by ED.07 should be relocated to ED.04

 

 -    Cill to ED.01 is higher than part M requires but can be retained provided that the school is happy to manage disabled access into the room through an alternative door

 -   Change in surface level outside ED.01 should be marked by contrasting coloured strip of paint.
